The 2025 Met Gala Theme And Co-Chairs Announced

May 2025 is still a long time away but that’s not stopping Vogue from unveiling the plan for the 2025 Met Gala. On Oct. 9th, the 2025 Met Gala theme and co-chairs were shared with fashion enthusiasts at a press conference in New York City’s famed Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” is the theme for the 2025 Met Gala which is set to be the first-ever museum exhibit exploring dandyism and the influence of Black men on style.

The Met Gala will return on the first Monday of May next year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met Museum announced the theme of the spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The exhibit will explore the unforgettable style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th century through the present day.

A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour will co-chair the 2025 Met Gala alongside honorary chair LeBron James on May 5, 2025.

The event usually takes place on the first Monday in May every year since 2005, apart from in 2020, when it was canceled, and in 2021, when it was held in September because of the pandemic.

With days, weeks, and months away until the May 5, 2025 event, there’s plenty of time to study up and prepare for what will be a notably historic event in a long list of memorable Met Galas.

Chaired by Wintour since 1995, the Met Gala returns to New York City ,The dress code will be announced in early 2025, and “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” will be on view May 6 through October 26, 2025.
